for the hope

for the hope that dangles by your sleeves like keys fastened to the side of your bag

for the whispers you silently and patiently utter like prayers of a lost traveler looking for direction

for the smile that enlightens your cheeks as it sees the moon in its final circle, ready to become whole

for the rushing of your hand to put away those strands of hair coming onto your face as you complete yet another paper

for the dreams that make you wake up yearning, wanting to stay in bed longer

for the smells that guide you on a path you don’t remember but recognize where it leads

for your eyes that cant stop following every move, not like a hawk eyeing its prey but like a lover watching whats his

for all of that and you, the doors still stay open, the light still enters the window every morning and night and the birds still sing in their familiar humming, although a tad bit lesser now, knowing one day you will listen to them too, and you will keep listening.
