questionable turn of phrases

there’s so much pain around you

how do you not feel it?

how do you make it stop?

we sleep to forget, to erase

and wake up to remember it all over again

its lesser, far away now but its still there

like a wound you don’t remember or can place on your body

but can feel the pain nonetheless

pain and grief creates a chain

our parents received from their parents

and we receive from them

we wish to protect but can someone really be protected? from pain?

like water rushing out from between the rocks

pain cannot be stopped or controlled

its inevitable. yet we try.

carrying it on like a legacy.

we care. we hurt. we care.

so much so we forget ourselves but won’t stop protecting.

maybe that’s all that matters.
